Mole Testing/Mole Biopsies
During a skin exam, there may be moles that are identified as looking suspicious for skin cancer. When Dr. Steele-Griffin identifies a mole that looks like a possible skin cancer, she must take a sample of the mole to send to the lab for examination under the microscope. Dr. Steele-Griffin gently numbs the skin prior to the procedure then removes only the necessary portion of skin. We notify you of the results as soon as possible, once they are received from the lab then decide on the most appropriate and safest treatment plan based on the biopsy results
